NENAD VASILIC QUARTET
Nenad Vasilić is a jazz bass player, a composer and an arranger from Niš. He studied at the Jazz Academy in Graz and continued his career in Austria. He founded his band in 1998, which for a certain time carried the name “Vasilic Nenad Balkan Band.” His wish was to combine jazz with the musical tradition of the Balkans. Nenad has realized seven albums under his name. During his career he worked with numerous international jazz musicians, including Mark Murphy, Sheila Jordan, Stjepko Gut, Natasa Mirkovic De Ro, Laurie Antonioli and Bojan Zulfikarpasić. Through his project “Reka”, in cooperation with singer Amira Medunjanin and ten other musicians from South Eastern Europe, he played within the musical program of the Olympic Games in London. Nenad is one of Serbia’s most internationally successful jazz musicians, and this year he will be performing for the first time at the Belgrade Jazz Festival!
